Top 5 Caribbean All-Inclusive Honeymoon Resorts

All-inclusive honeymoon

Let's face it, wedding planning is a lot of work. After the wedding is over you want to be pampered and spoiled and your honeymoon is the perfect place for that to happen. One of the best ways to accomplish a stress free romantic escape is an all-inclusive honeymoon.

So, what exactly does all-inclusive mean? Generally it means that your room rate will include everything, from your pina colada on the beach to the soda you grab from the mini-bar in your room to the steak and lobster dinners you order every night. You also won't have to reach for a tip every time a waiter brings you a drink or a new towel by the pool.

How do you choose an all-inclusive that's right for your honeymoon?

There are more and more all-inclusives popping up and honestly they are not all equally wonderful. I have narrowed down the top 5 all-inclusive resorts that I know are top notch. Most of these offer honeymoon extras in addition to their already incredible romantic atmospheres. So, choose your favorite Caribbean destination, find the all-inclusive that fits your "must haves" and then the only decisions you will have to make are "beach, pool or excursion today."

1. Sandals

Sandals pool

Sandals have become synonymous with luxurious romantic getaways. All the resorts are adults only and offer both honeymoon and destination wedding extras. These include Swim-up, Skypool, Beachfront and Love Nest Suites, Butler service, Overwater Bungalows (now at 3 of their locations), Culinary excellence, Candlelight dining on the beach, World Class spas and more!

Sandals Emerald Bay beach

There are 16 resorts. Seven in Jamaica (2 with overwater suites), three in St. Lucia (one with brand new overwater suites), two in the Bahamas and Barbados, one each in Antigua and Grenada. Golf, motorized water sports and scuba are usually included in the room price. You won't be disappointed with a honeymoon in a Sandals paradise.

2. Couples Resorts

Couples San Souci Spa

Honeymooners are treated to a 25-minute couples massage when they check into any of the 4 resorts located in Jamaica. If that doesn't melt away your stress I don't know what will. They also offer free excursions to area attractions, tennis, snorkeling, unlimited scuba diving, non-motorized water sports and golf (2 locations).

Couples Dining

Couples resorts offer gourmet Jamaican Farm-to-Table dining and nightly entertainment. I was fortunate enough to visit two of the Couples resorts, Tower Isle and San Souci. I immediately fell in love with San Souci's intimate cliff-side setting, thermal mineral grotto and breathtaking views. Oh, by the way, all of these resorts are adults only (no singles) and 3 of them even offer private "au naturel" beaches.

3. Karisma El Dorado Resorts

El Dorado Infinity Pool

El Dorado resorts are the adults-only group of hotels in the Karisma family (they also have Generations, Azul Beach, Nickelodeon and the "au naturel" Hidden Beach). They have four resorts all located in Mexico. Many of the rooms come with Jacuzzis and some even have outdoor showers and infinity pools.

El Dorado Palafitos

I attended a Karisma training locally and learned so much about their "Gourmet Inclusive" experience, which includes gourmet cuisine, premium drinks, personalized service and fun activities. Oh, did I mention the popular overwater palafitos at El Dorado Maroma? How would you like this view?

4. Secrets Resorts & Spa, Zoetry Wellness & Spa,

Secrets Swim out

Secrets and Zoetry are part of the AMResort family (others under this umbrella are Breathless, Dreams, Now and Sunscape). Secrets is adults-only and has escapes in Mexico (10), Jamaica (2), Dominican Republic (2) and Costa Rica (1).  The rooms are huge and some resorts have swim-up access to the pool. Their honeymoon package offers breakfast in bed and other amenities.

Zoetry pool

Zoetry Wellness Resorts are an upscale, luxury, wellness boutique. Their "Endless Privileges" include lavish accommodations, maid service three times daily, healthy gourmet cuisine, unlimited top-shelf spirits, 24-hour concierge services and more. There are three resorts in Mexico and one each in the Dominican, Jamaica and Aruba (opening 2018). While children are allowed here you would never know. The service and boutique style will ensure a very intimate stay.

5. Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet

Jade Mountain

Jade Mountain is my idea of the perfect honeymoon escape. It is located on St. Lucia, which is a top honeymoon destination. The architecture is organic and stunning, blending in with the surrounding natural beauty. Instead of rooms you are in sanctuaries set into the mountain side with only 3 walls, giving you unparalleled views of the majestic Piton Mountains and inviting Caribbean Sea below. Many of these sanctuaries have infinity pools. You won't be distracted by TV, radio or children. There are many activities to enjoy, but with your own private sanctuary and stunning view you may never leave your room!

Anse Chastanet beach

Anse Chastanet is the sister resort to Jade Mountain, located by the beach in 600 acres of lush tropical foliage. Nick Troubetzkoy, the owner and architect of both resorts, believes passionately in preserving the natural surroundings. Both of these upscale resorts offer tranquility, adventure and romance. If you want the ultimate honeymoon splurge, I highly recommend these exclusive resorts.
