Meet the Merte's!
Jim and Lisa married 11/11/11. They love to travel and have taken some exquisite trips together. Lisa is a teaching colleague of mine, so often their time away revolves around school vacation times. Spring Break 2015 they decided they wanted an off the grid romantic adventure. It was an opportunity to commune with nature, explore the many wonders of a country and it's culture while reconnecting with each other in a way that only travel can provide...an immersing, shared rendezvous.
Jim and Lisa spent two delicious nights here. In addition to the healing thermal hot springs they were able to take a hike which included fabulous bird watching and a very cool hanging bridge. The Arenal volcano provided a stunning picturesque view.
White Water Rafting and More
Lisa and Jim loved their room and the romantic ambiance of this all-inclusive resort. The were able to go zip-lining, horseback riding and kayaking. While the rooms do not have electricity there is a charging station at the reception desk. This eco-lodge is known for it's exquisite organic cuisine culled from the surrounding area. One of the main attractions of this resort is the mode of transportation to arrive and depart from it. There is a warehouse where you meet for your trip into the lodge. You are allowed a maximum of 25 pounds of luggage. The rest is stored securely for you until your return. The resort provides you a packing list so that when you arrive you will be prepared for your thrilling white water rafting trip to the Pacuare Lodge. The rapids are rated class IV-V but each raft has a guide. Are you ready for an adventure??
During their three nights at the last resort Jim and Lisa enjoyed a catamaran excursion where they snorkeled and saw dolphins. They also visited the National Park and mangroves nearby. Wildlife is abundant and they saw three different varieties of monkeys (white-faced, howling, and squirrel), exotic birds, bats, alligators, iguanas, spiders, snakes, sloths, you name it! Lisa told me that interacting with the wildlife was one of the reasons she loved this getaway.
